The Application Process

Thank you for your interest in Covenant High School!

 

If you have not already connected with our Admissions Director, Malisa Munoz, or been on campus for a tour, we warmly invite you to do so. Please complete this form or call (253) 759-9570 ext. 1. 

 
 

If you are ready to begin your student's application, instructions are as follows:

    • If you are a returning family and have completed an online application in the past, simply sign in here and click Create a New Student Application
      • Enter the required information
      • A verification email will be sent to you (this can take several minutes)
      • After receiving the verification email, click Verify Account
    • Log in to your account
      • Click Create a New Student Application
    • Enter your student’s information
      • Select the grade level and school year you are applying for
        • If you have a domestic student applying for the 9th grade, select the 9th grade application from the drop-down
        • If you have a domestic student applying mid-year for grade 9 or for grades 10-12, select the transfer student application from the drop-down
        • If you are an international student, select the international student application
  1. Click Start Application to begin your application
 

If you have a domestic student applying for the 9th grade, the application includes:

  • Sending electronic referrals to your teacher and church
  • Uploading 7th and 8th grade transcripts
  • Printing the student questionnaire from the online application, having the student complete by hand, then uploading to the online application
  • Upon submission, paying a non-refundable $77 fee that is paid directly to FACTS
  • At any point in the application process, scheduling an admissions interview with Principal Miller
  • If you are applying for tuition assistance, please complete your tuition assistance application by the time of the admissions test. You can apply for tuition assistance here.
  • Taking the admissions test, which takes place at Covenant High School on February 7, 2024 at 3:30 pm. To register, please contact Malisa Munoz at mmunoz@chstacoma.org. Another test date can be arranged if needed.

Completed applications received by February 7, 2024, will be considered by our Admissions Committee and applicants will receive an admissions notification by February 23, 2024. If accepted, an applicant can reserve their spot with a $300 registration fee paid by or on February 29, 2024. After February 29, 2024, this registration fee increases to $400. 

We recommend that all parts of the application are complete by the time of the admissions test on February 7, 2024. After February 7, 2024, admissions decisions are made on a rolling, space-available basis. Applicants will be placed in a wait pool once spots are no longer available. 

 
 

If you have a domestic student applying mid-year for grade 9 or for grades 10–11, the application includes:

  • Sending electronic referrals to your teacher and church
  • Printing the student questionnaire from the online application and having the student complete by hand, then uploading to the online application
  • Uploading the student’s most current transcript (students applying to transfer do not need to take an admissions test).
  • Upon submission, paying a non-refundable $77 fee that is paid directly to FACTS
  • At any point in the application process, scheduling an admissions interview with Principal Miller
  • If you are applying for tuition assistance, please complete your tuition assistance application around the same time as your application for enrollment. You can apply for tuition assistance here.

If you have an international student, the application includes:

  • Printing the student questionnaire from the online application and having the student complete by hand, then uploading to the online application
  • Uploading a reference letter from a teacher of your choice
  • Uploading an official transcript from the past two years of school
  • Uploading a transcript translated into English
  • Uploading TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, SLEP, iTEP, IELTS, or ELTIS test score results
    • If applicant does not have an English test score, a video interview will be conducted via Microsoft Teams
  • Uploading a copy of the legal guardian's bank statement showing adequate funds for one year of education
  • Uploading a copy of the applicant's passport
  • Upon submission, paying a non-refundable $125 application fee that is paid directly to FACTS
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling, space-available basis. Applicants will be placed in a wait pool once spots are no longer available. If accepted, a $900 registration fee will be requested via check or bank wire. Once received, an I-20 will be created and sent directly to the applicant. If the applicant does not pass their US Visa interview, half of the $900 registration fee may be refunded. 
 
Six weeks before arrival, please provide health immunization forms and a copy of medical insurance card or proof of USA illness/accident coverage. Illness/Accident Insurance with coverage while in the U.S. is required for international students. Please provide proof of insurance for coverage in the U.S. The insurance policy should provide coverage for medical expenses totaling at least up to $250,000.00.
